The historical old farm house built in German colonial style, from natural stone dressed and fitted into perfection makes the farm house the center of attention. Burgsdorf has a rich history dating back to 1899. The name of the farm Burgsdorf comes from the ‘Hauptmann’ Von Burgsdorff who was the commander of the Gibeon district at that time. Burgsdorf served as a police station and a resting place for people on their way traveling south on horseback or ox-wagon. As it still is today for modern man on self-drives or organized tours.

Burgsdorf offers 8 Standard Twin Rooms, these rooms were part of the old farm building and transformed into lovely guest rooms. These rooms have their own en-suite bathrooms and fitted with air-conditioners.
Newly built is our Large Comfort Rooms, these rooms are very spacious and have their own verandah with a beautiful view on a waterhole where abundant bird life can be seen and even some wild animals. These rooms are fitted with quality linen, coffee and tea making facilities, air-conditioner and your own private parking next to your room.
Hang gliding in Namibia – Burgsdorf is a hang gliders dream
Burgsdorf Farm is a wonderful place for hang gliding. The weather is perfect for flying, as the warm Namib Desert air meet the hot Kalahari Desert on the C14 road which makes it ideal for flying.
Burgsdorf offers an airstrip/pad from all the wind directions to lift the hang gliders into the air by micro lights.
A lovely farm stay with air-conditioned rooms and most important Wi-Fi internet to keep close tabs on the weather.
Three hang glider records have been set here on Burgsdorf. We already hosted two successful hang gliding camps and the next one is from December 2011 till January 2012. The best place to be to reach new heights.
